Interdepartmental Toxicology Graduate Program - M.S./Ph.D.

Toxicology graduate students in TOX 502 are analyzing BTEX compounds using solid phase microextraction (SPME) and gas chromatography - mass spectrometry system in the Koziel lab (Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering).

A sampling of present toxicology graduate student projects.

(Coats Lab/Entomology) research involves evaluating the insecticidal activity of the natural product conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) against the European corn borer. This includes studying the development, survival, fecundity, and fatty acid profiles of corn borers fed a CLA-enriched diet.

(Reddy Lab/Food Science and Human Nutition and Kanthasamy Lab/Biomedical Sciences) Discover the neuroprotective effect of phytic acid, a natural iron chelator, in cell culture model and animal model of Parkinson’s disease.
