The Regional Chapters of the Society of Toxicology are an important part of the organization, and provide a friendly milieu for good science
and renewing and making friendships and connections.
We strongly encourage you to become a member of the Central States Chapter, but
even if not a member, please make every effort to attend our meeting in Ames, Iowa. We will put together an exciting program that will be of interest to a wide
audience of toxicologists and other individuals.

Directions to the Alumni Center: take University Boulevard north from Highway 30. Turn left (west) on to either South 4th Street or on Center Drive. The ISU Alumni
Center is set at the west end of the parking area between these two streets.

A block of rooms have been reserved at Gateway Center for the Central States Society of Toxicology until 3 weeks prior to the meeting at a
cost of $79.00 per night. The rooms will still be available at this price after the reservation cut-off date if rooms are available.

Oral Presentation Abstract Deadline: Wednesday, September 23, 2009, by Noon Central Standard. Please indicate when you submit your abstract that
you wish to be considered for the Oral Presentations; without this information it will be assumed you are submitting a
poster abstract only.
Please indicate on your abstract whether you are a graduate student or post doctoral fellow. Three post doc presenters will be chosen and informed by Saturday, September 26. Three
graduate student presenters will be chosen and informed by Saturday, September 26. Send abstracts to Linda Wild by email
(lmwild@iastate.edu). If the abstract you are submitting will also be a poster, let us know that as well.
Poster Abstract Submission Deadline: Friday, September 25, 2009. Please submit your abstract to Linda Wild by email (lmwild@iastate.edu) by
September 25 in order to be included in the CS-SOT Program booklet. The abstract should be less than one page long (about 250 words), Times New Roman, font size 12,
1 inch margins. Please indicate on your poster abstract whether you are a graduate student or post doctoral fellow.
Program Awards: Four awards will be given (two for oral presentations, two for poster presentations). For each type of presentation,
one student and one postdoctoral
fellow with the paper judged best by the Chapter officers will receive cash towards attendance at the
2010 National SOT Meeting in Salt Lake City Utah March 7-11, 2010
Summer Scholars Poster Session at Central States SOT
Summer interns involved in toxicology research are invited to attend the Central States SOT meeting October 2, 2009 in Ames, Iowa and bring
their posters. Posters will be judged by Graduate Students and cash prizes for the top 3 posters awarded. Summer interns must register and
follow rules for poster abstract submission. Registration is free. Questions, contact Linda at lmwild@iastate.edu
